BLUE LOTUS EGYPT (PYRAMIDION) In Loving Memory of Celeste Yarnall
Yellow in Ancient Egyptian culture represented a divine matrix used to portray the aspects of the deity seen as ‘imperishable, eternal and indestructible’. Gold, a variant of yellow, symbolized the sun. The lotus figure in the center panel brings the notion of these qualities into focus. The starlight beaming from her joined hands can be seen as the capstone on the ancient pyramids, emitting the solar power that nourishes life into blossom. The ‘third eye’ pyramid ‘bindi’ on her forehead, also implies the capstone in this sense.
