Garifuna Loops is a painting created by Nazim Artist for the 2015 Garifuna International Film Festival Art Exhibition.

The Painting takes the colours of the Garifuna flag, Black , White and Yellow, using them as motifs that flow through the picture plane. The figure dancing the ‘punta’ and wearing a tri-colour headdress from which the strands loop, suggests the interweaving nature of the greater Garifuna diaspora. The fragments on the ground, around the dancers feet is a further reflection of the fragmented symbolism becoming a unified consciousness that embodies the universal sense of the Garifuna.
